Established in 2001, Formworks is an Australian architecture practice renowned for its client-focused design ethos, innovative thinking, BIM expertise and commitment to successful project delivery. It specialises in senior living, health and hospitality projects.
They are supported by a highly experienced design and documentation team, which includes an architectural graduate with ten years clinical experience as a nurse, as well as one of the leading Building Information management (BIM) teams in Western Australia. Their hope is to work with local partners to create successful new aged living and health developments in India.
Formworks’ contribution to the senior living industry has been to successfully deliver innovative new projects, in challenging locations, for clients with no previous project experience. The firm achieves this through careful consultation, clever design and experienced project management.
One such achievement is their senior living housing project named Lime Street Aged Care.
The $30 million Lime Street Project in Perth, for St Bartholomew’s House, was the first in Australia to combine aged living, crisis accommodation, office space and retail on a single site. The final design accommodated 148 beds over 7 storeys, and yet has help to create a strong community atmosphere for both residents and staff.
The project won both the Sustainability Prize and the overall President’s Prize at Urban Development Institute of Australia’s WA Chapter Awards in 2012, along with the 2012 Award for Best Multi-Residential Project from the Australian Institute of Architects (WA).
Lime Street is a facility for the homeless combining crisis care, transitional care, long term accommodation, aged care (dementia specific) and offices for mental health service providers etc.
Formworks worked closely with St. Bartholomew’s, from Board to operational levels, to understand the clients culture and needs, to ultimately deliver a project in an efficient and timely way.
